Running dates : November 10, 17, 24, December 1, 8 th 2008 (5 weeks total) Monday's.

League ball: Tedrick ball

Start times: 6:30pm. Each performance should last about 2 hours. The court is reserved during that time including a ½ hour warm up period (starting at 6pm)for league play, and is not open to the public. This is in accordance to the NJAA contract with the City of St. Petersburg.

Entry fee: $5 per week, or $25 for the entire program

Payment arrangement: You may pay the entire $25 up front on the first night of the league or weekly. If you pay weekly, a payment of $5 will be due before play begins November 10, 17, and 24 th . A double payment of $10 will be due before play begins on December 1 st . This will cover the following week's payment of $5 due. By doing this, if someone does not show up the last week, the winners will not have to worry about not getting paid in full when they officially win at the conclusion of the program.

Lost ball fee: If a player loses a ball, they agree to pay the NJAA for the replacement of the ball. The league will supply all balls and is covered in part of the NJAA fees that are deducted from the “kitty”.

Scoring: All games are played to 10 points, all single point scoring.

Referee: All standard NJAA and professional league rules are in effect. The official referee shall make the final call and is official. The referee will receive a share of the money from the NJAA's administration fees.

League conduct: All players agree to follow NJAA conduct rules, and may be suspended or tossed out of the league for serious violation.

League signup: When you sign up for a league, you will be given a “priority number”. All leagues will allow for up to 10 players. Any additional players will be placed on a waiting list.

With this priority number, you will be able to have your choice of frontcourt or backcourt. Once you sign up, you agree that you may be assigned either position. The earlier you sign up, the more likelihood you will get your choice of position.

If 10 players do not sign up, the league will then have either 8 players or 6. If 6 players are not signed up, the league is canceled. If an odd number of players sign up, for example 7 or 9, then that last person signed up will get “bumped”, as we will resort to the last even number of either 6 or 8 players. All efforts will be made not to allow this to happen.

New league sign up priority numbers (as of Tuesday, November 4 at 4:30pm):

1.) Laca

2.) Chris

3.) Mike

4.) Luis

5.) Mark

6.) Chip

7.) Mondra

8.) Tedrick

9.) George

10.) Thomas

Waiting list

1.) King

2.) Fred

Game format: All players are classified as either a frontcourter or backcourter. Each frontcourter will play a mixed doubles game against each of the other backcourter. In the case of 10 players, there will be 5 mixed doubles game to 10 points. The winning team will get an extra 5 points for winning the game, or a total of 15 points.

Two singles games will be played in addition, both to 10 points with the same bonus structure – 5 extra points going to the winner. The first game played each league night will be a singles between backcourters. Then the five mixed doubles games will be played. The final game will be the singles match of frontcourters.

Weekly format:

Game 1 Singles Backcourters / 10 points

Game 2 Mixed doubles / 10 points

Game 3 Mixed doubles / 10 points

Game 4 Mixed doubles / 10 points

Game 5 Mixed doubles / 10 points

Game 6 Mixed doubles / 10 points

Game 7 Singles Frontcourters / 10 points

No shows / subbing:

If a player is unable to attend, he will receive zero points in the singles game. However, we will continue to receive points scored by his teammate in doubles play. For example, in the final week of the first Monday night league, King was unable to attend. In game 1, his teammate was Chris, who scored 9 points by himself. In game 2, Laca scored 8 points without his teammate King. King was awarded all of those points even though he was 1000 miles away. There is no subbing for players that do not show up.

League updates:

In most cases, the updates on scoring will appear on the home page story or in “League Info”. In other cases, the info may only appear on the “Message Board”. Please be sure to check all locations for updates. Eventually, this will be standardized as league formation and interest is gaining.
